Spider-Man has always been brought up by his Aunt May and Uncle Ben. In the comic books, his parents had some pretty sad stories, but in the MCU, we don't really know anything about them.
A Reddit user shared a theory that suggests that Winter Soldier could have something to do with the Parkers' death.
According to the theory, Richard and Mary Parker were scientists working for S.H.I.E.L.D., specializing in genetics and aiming to create enhanced individuals capable of combating advanced threats.
With Hydra's infiltration of S.H.I.E.L.D., it is postulated that they may have uncovered the Parkers' groundbreaking research, deeming it invaluable for their own nefarious purposes.
Bucky Barnes aka Winter Soldier was an efficient Hydra operative during the time when the Parkers were alive.
Thus, it is suggested that Hydra dispatched Bucky to eliminate the Parkers to prevent their research from falling into the wrong hands.
The Winter Soldier's connection to Hydra is well-documented in the MCU. As an expert assassin, he carried out numerous covert missions on their behalf, making it possible that Hydra would assign him to eliminate potential threats such as the Parkers.
The theory is indeed interesting, but many fans believe it to be too stretched. The theory lacks concrete evidence within the MCU's narrative.
While it is possible to connect certain dots and speculate on potential links, the films have not explicitly addressed the death of Peter's parents.
Moreover, Winter Soldier has already been through his redemption arc, in Captain America: Civil War in particular, where Bucky was confronted by Iron Man for murdering his parents many years ago.
It seems implausible that Marvel will repeat this plot with the same character.
