Whatever you may have thought previously, Wolf Pack creator Jeff Davis has confirmed the show is not a Teen Wolf spinoff. And that means no cameos.

The series, which is due to land on Paramount+ in January 2023, is a screen adaptation of the book series authored by Edo van Belkom that charts the lives of teenagers Everett (Armani Jackson) and Blake (Bella Shepard) after a California wildfire unleashes a family of werewolves on an unsuspecting ton.

So, yes, they both feature werewolves, and yes they're set in California, but no – they are not one and the same fantasy universe.

Now, it has to be said that Paramount+ didn't do fans any favours when they announced the two alongside each other in a way that seemed to indicate they are linked in some way. Cue Jeff Davis (creator of both shows) with an update to make sure we all know that's not the case.

Can You Guess the Teen Wolf Actress Tyler Posey Had a Crush On?

In fact, it seems the misguided idea was to put Wolf Pack in the spotlight of Teen Wolf to generate interest and get people tuning in. And you might argue that it worked. First there was the general understanding that Wolf Pack was set to be a spinoff of Teen Wolf – which generated interest.

Then there was a discussion about which Teen Wolf characters might make an appearance in the 'spinoff' which seemed to suggest that people were planning to tune in.

And finally, there was the announcement from Davis. So, in a funny way, the decision to announce the Wolf Pack on the back of Teen Wolf may well have made it far more newsworthy than it otherwise would have been.

However, it's worth noting that both shows are based around wolves and both (as we know) have the same writer. Which means fans of Teen Wolf can look forward to a show equal in quality – even if the two are not technically linked.

And let's not forget that Wolf Pack also sees the return of Sarah Michelle Gellar to the supernatural scene. After making it big as Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Geller has gone on to all sorts of other projects since. Getting her signed to the show is something of a coup – and it should generate a fair amount of interest as the Emmy-award-winning actress returns to her roots.

Wolf Pack is set to premiere on Paramount+ 26 January 2023, right after Teen Wolf: The Movie debut on the streaming platform.
