Try giving them a chance while waiting for the Yellowstone finale.

One of the most popular genres is definitely the Western. It's funny that westerns were popular in the 50's and 60's and then came back with a new wave of fame so many years later. One of the most popular shows of the genre is Yellowstone, but apparently there are many movies that give a more realistic portrayal of everything terrible that usually happens in a given reality.

And although the movie is far shorter than a series, we guarantee you that these 5 movies will give you much more than any show could.

1. Django Unchained (2012)

Quentin Tarantino 's iconic film is definitely worthy of being number 1 on the list. Created in 2012, it tells the story of a slave named Django who is freed by a bounty hunter named King Schultz for his own purposes. Django helped Schultz and then wanted to find out where his wife was sold to. And they start their adventure...

The movie has so many violent scenes that it scares you, but not because it's scary, on the contrary, because everything looks so easy. Killing people seems to be something normal in the 1850s, and violence is absolutely necessary if you want to save your life.

2. Bone Tomahawk (2015)

Another relatively new movie that will definitely give you the creeps is this forgotten gem from 2015. While it has a 91% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, it's also one of those movies that viewers say they want to forget, especially when it comes to certain scenes. There are a lot of graphic violent scenes that really make you want to cover your eyes.

The small town’s people are tortured in many different ways by the cannibalistic cave dwellers, and it’s only in the hands of an old sheriff and his team to rescue them all. But there’s a catch…

“I have a pretty strong stomach, and this is the first movie that has ever made me nauseous. It's great and worth the watch, but it's got a few gruesome bits in it. It's also a slow burn western,” Redditor 314Piepurr said.

3. The Wild Bunch (1969)

At the center of this old Western is an aging group of outlaws looking for one last big score as the "traditional" American West is disappearing around them. And it’s 1913 so you have to be careful with everything you say and do…

The last job ends up being a brutal bloody mash that is in no way a proper watch for those who are easily affected by things like that.

“I well remember the furor in the media over the graphic violence, spurting blood, etc. As one who grew up on those old 50s Westerns, where people who were shot expired peacefully and (mostly) bloodlessly, and were able to mutter a few pithy last words…. Or, no one dies at all. The hero shoots the gun out of their hand…” Redditor Bikewer said.

4. The Nightingale (2018)

An Australian Western also made the list. The events of the movie is set in 1825, and it follows a young woman named Clare as she goes on a revenge trip to make a British officer, who was way too violent towards her family for no good reason, suffer the same way. The amazing performance that Aisling Franciosi gives as Clare is so amazing it leaves you speechless.

5. The Hateful Eight (2015)

Another one of Quentin Tarantino's masterpieces is this movie starring Samuel L. Jackson, Kurt Russell and Jennifer Jason Leigh. The movie follows the life of a bounty hunter and his prisoner as they find protection in a cabin that is currently inhabited by a collection of diabolical characters. It has many extremely graphic violent scenes that are worth watching on empty stomach.
