With Netflix, one should never get their hopes too high.

Wednesday season 2 announcement has quickly revived hopes in the fandom that the second chapter might have the show's popular pairing, Wenclair (Wednesday and Enid), become canon.

These speculations have only intensified after ScreenRant reported that writers are considering to make the relationship between Wednesday and Enid a "focal point" of the show and "gradually move toward fulfilling a romantic pairing, rather than just teasing audiences about a potential relationship between the two."

While there have been no official statements on that matter, the fandom is already buzzing about how season 2 might make Wenclair canon, which is not entirely impossible even though writers previously established that they viewed the girls as friends. The cast, however, has been actively hinting they were down to Wednesday and Enid engaging into some sort of a romantic relationship.

However, there is a catch that some fans are already fearing even though it might be way too soon to worry. Wenclair fan account on Twitter, thinkingofjenna, has suggested that the tease might go horribly wrong, and writers might actually proceed to make Enid... Wednesday's stalker.

What might seem like a great betrayal plot twist to writers is very likely to be a catastrophe for fans, even those who don't "ship" Wednesday and Enid. Emma Myers' character is unilaterally seen as "the sunshine" of the series, and if she turns out to be the mysterious stalker who threatened Wednesday at the end of season 1, it might as well cause an online riot.

Other fans are concerned about other things.

"I'm just scared that by focusing on it they're gonna make it bad. Like when Enid and Wednesday weren't the main main idea they were ironically developed really well unlike the love triangle which was apparently the main 'move' yet it ended up feeling super forced," Twitter user Sophie25117296 noted.

It is still too soon to get overly concerned about season 2 and how it drives Wednesday's story forward. Currently, the fandom is celebrating that Netflix has officially renewed Wednesday for yet another season, even though the premiere date is yet to be scheduled.
