The latest Warrior Nun updates deliver tough blows to fans: right after the Simon Barry news, the new masters of the show disappoint Halo Bearers once again.

As a show, Warrior Nun has a unique story of success. First, it became Netflix ’s highest-rated original series; then, after the streamer decided to axe it with season 2, Warrior Nun became the first canceled Netflix show to survive the fall and find a new home. And instead of dropping season 3, the show transformed into a movie trilogy!

This could not have been possible without two key parties: Simon Barry, the creator of Warrior Nun, and Halo Bearers, the most fiercely loyal fan base out there. However, the latest Warrior Nun updates are really out to frustrate fans beyond any boundaries — and Simon Barry is admittedly losing control over the series, too.

Just yesterday, we learned that Barry was not, in fact, working on the upcoming movie trilogy: when the countdown on the Warrior Nun Saved website started ticking again, the creator of the show hopped on X and explained that he was ”not part of the team producing the movies, and [had] no deal in place for any writing or directing services.”

This news alone sparked the fire of mutiny among Halo Bearers who don’t believe Warrior Nun can keep going without Simon Barry. However, now that the countdown ended, the update Barry claimed to know nothing about turned out to be yet another cause for massive frustration for the fans of the show.

The “major announcement” turned out to be nothing but a halo design contest for Halo Bearers. Not only was this not the news anyone was hoping for, but the contest also turned out to have massive restrictions that disabled a large portion of the fan base. For one, a participant “must be a resident of the U.S. or Canada (except Quebec).”

Needless to say, fans are infuriated.

Instead of an actual update on the planned movie trilogy, they got a divisive contest with a “Warrior Nun illustration” as a prize — and that’s amid the general shock from the Simon Barry news! Halo Bearers on X are losing their minds, and there are hundreds of angered posts under #ThisHaloOrTheNext on the platform.

Things were just starting to look up for Warrior Nun, and now the new masters of the franchise have a fan rebellion on their hands… They better fix the situation, and quickly — Halo Bearers have already proved they’d stop at nothing until they get what they want.
