And one is a long time overdue if you ask us.

Summary:

  • Young Sheldon is a CBS sitcom that was created as a prequel to The Big Bang Theory.
  • Although it is focused on Sheldon Cooper’s family, some of the original series actors have made their cameos as narrators.
  • For the final season 7 of the show, fans want to see more of them return.

For the past year and a half, it seemed like there was only one topic on everyone's mind in Young Sheldon fandom: George's death. While that is the canonical event that cannot be changed without completely losing the connection between the original show and its more successful prequel, the closer the finale gets, the less people seem to care.

If George Cooper dies on camera, everyone will get their closure, but the series finale would have to be more dramatic than expected from the sitcom. If he doesn't, viewers can live free, assuming his time comes somewhere between the timelines of the two shows. In the end, the death doesn't even have to be addressed for the case to be solved.

What fans seem to care about is how the final season of the show will tie everything up, and honor the story it has been telling since 2017. What's expected is to pay homage to The Big Bang Theory's original series at least once, just to nod to all the loyal fans who have been around since the beginning.

And what better way to do that than by inviting someone very special to narrate alongside Jim Parsons?

Who Has Been Narrating Young Sheldon?

For most of the show, the narration was done by the original actor who portrayed the adult Sheldon Cooper, Jim Parsons. Because of this, many people assume that Young Sheldon will be some sort of story told from his perspective, be it a podcast, a book, or an interview.

However, viewers of the show have also heard from Mayim Bialik, who portrayed Sheldon's wife, Amy, a few times, as well as a funny cameo from Kaley Cuoco in an unexpected role of pool water. Another person who made a quick appearance was Simon Helberg, who finally realized why Sheldon hates engineers as much as he does.

The person who hasn't appeared on the show yet, and who has always been very much wanted by the fanbase, is The Big Bang Theory's Leonard, portrayed by Johnny Galecki.

Considering how close he has been to Sheldon for many years, it should only be a matter of time before viewers are finally surprised by his voice. With Young Sheldon coming to a close, there will be no better opportunity. Of course, any other cameo from the main series would be just as welcome, but Leonard should be first in line for the recording booth.

If you are interested in seeing what surprises Young Sheldon has in store for its viewers, you can tune in to CBS on February 15, 2024, to not miss the Season 7 premiere of the show.
