And shares his honest thoughts on the potential blockbuster event.

Fans of the Transformers franchise have long wondered if the crossover with G.I. Joe will finally happen — and I was curious what Josh Duhamel, a familiar face from multiple Transformers films, thinks about it. When MovieWeb caught up with him, his reaction was refreshingly honest:

"I haven’t heard that, but that’s a really good idea," Duhamel said. "Maybe they have no intention of involving me in that. But I sure would like to."

I love that straightforwardness — no hype, just genuine interest. It sounds like Duhamel is game if the crossover ever comes to life, but it’s still all up in the air.

Meanwhile, Josh is busy with his gritty new thriller Off the Grid, playing Guy, a reclusive genius hiding a government-targeted invention. His personal connection to the role comes through loud and clear when he talks about his own lifestyle:

"What would life be like if the zombie apocalypse comes, and we had to, like, live off the land? Could I do it? And I’m not quite there yet, but I’m getting better at it, and I do love it," he shared.

He said they first lived without electricity or water in a simple shack but gradually improved it. This lifestyle means more to him than just acting.

"It gives me a little bit of purpose. You know, it’s something that I can teach my kids. They can teach their kids someday. It’s a really beautiful place. We make a lot of really fun memories."

Duhamel’s reflections add depth to his character in Off the Grid — a man who’s found peace in isolation while holding onto a trillion-dollar secret, balancing survival, loneliness, and the constant threat of danger.

So, while we wait on word about the Transformers G.I. Joe crossover, Duhamel is proving he’s got his feet firmly planted both on and off the screen — and I’m definitely here for it.
