Young Sheldon's attitude toward a neighbor made fans remember how horrible Sheldon was to one of his best friends in the Big Bang Theory.

Being the comic relief of The Big Bang Theory, Sheldon's actions and words were often condoned by the audience. However, with time many viewers started wondering why he was so mean to his friends and especially to Howard Wolowitz.

When it came to Howard, Sheldon often acted condescending and mean, usually explaining his unpleasant behavior by the fact that Howard was an engineer lacking a Ph.D. and engineering was a lesser field.

But the level of Sheldon's dedication to bullying Howard made fans wonder if he had some other secret reasons to behave that way. And Young Sheldon only confirmed the suspicions.

Season 6 of Young Sheldon showed the new unexpected sides of the genius physicist. In one of the episodes, George Sr. pushes Sheldon to tutor their neighbor's son Billy who is on the brink of failing math.

Though Billy is far less intelligent than Howard, Sheldon is patient and even kind while teaching him math. So why can't Sheldon behave that way toward one of his best friends?

One Frankly Repulsive TBBT Episode Kaley Cuoco Absolutely Hated

While Sheldon once explained to Bernadette that it was because of all the pranks Howard played on him in their early friendship, Young Sheldon tried to give an explanation, too.

Episode 7 of Season 5 featured Howard's cameo and explained why Sheldon hated engineering so much. Turned out, the boy genius struggled with his first engineering assignment. His professor refused to help him and when the assignment was at last done called him tardy.

No wonder, Sheldon hates one person who succeeded in what he failed, fans think.

"Sheldon clearly can't do anything when it comes to engineering or mechanics and Howard is always there to help (from installing a security system to basically building their robot)," one of the fans explained.

But there might be another reason for Sheldon to be intimidated by Howard.

"From what I've noticed, Howard seems to be the person to least put up with Sheldon's demands. Everyone else tries to be accommodating but Howard is usually the first to resist or question why he has to put up with Sheldon. In other words, Howard is the hardest for Sheldon to control," another fan stressed.

This actually might be true. Howard is a tough nut to crack for Sheldon and that makes the boy genius hate his guts.
