Looks like Tom Cruise and the company will pay Croisette a visit this coming May. Superstar's latest blockbuster is slated for Cannes film festival premiere as a part of a special tribute, dedicated to Cruise's exceptional career in film industry.

2022 marks the 40th anniversary of Tom Cruise's acting career – his first breakthrough role was in 1982 'Taps' alongside George C. Scott and Timothy Hutton. Since then, Cruise became the front man for many beloved Hollywood films, including 'Mission Impossible ', 'The Last Samurai', 'Rain Man'. Cannes film festival will honor his legacy with a special program, featuring actor's greatest hits from the last forty years.

Cruise previously attended Cannes festival only once – curiously, exactly thirty years before his scheduled return to present 'Top Gun: Maverick' to French audience, on May 18, 2022. After the film, Cruise will discuss his career with journalist Didier Allouch, shedding light on previously unknown details.

Despite the celebrated career milestone, Cruise have no intentions of stopping his endless strive for perfection. His latest collaboration with director Doug Liman, currently in pre-production, will see 59-year-old actor performing his famous stunts in space.

'Top Gun: Maverick' is scheduled for release on May 25, 2022.
