1 Major Concern Fans Have With Alex Garland’s ‘Elden Ring’

Alex Garland is set to direct the live-action Elden Ring movie for A24. However, fans have one big concern: can such a vast world be fit into just one movie? Here's what you need to know.
Alex Garland is officially working on the live-action Elden Ring and it looks like preparation is going full steam ahead.
“I'm now on my seventh playthrough of that game. I've leveled up, I've got lots of juice, and a cool sword, and stuff like that, and I just throw myself at them again, and again, and again, and again,” Garland said to IGN.
Can Alex Garland’s ‘Elden Ring’ Fit the Vast Game World on the Big Screen?
The Elden Ring universe is massive, with countless locations, characters, and plotlines. Fans are wondering if one movie can do it justice. One major concern is that the game's world is just too big for a single film.
“There’s no way they can accommodate for the scope and scale of ER, it’s too big imo. It needs to be like a LoTR trilogy kind of venture or don’t even bother,” Redditor GeneticSoda wrote.
The good news: it's Alex Garland after all and A24 has a strong track record of giving directors creative freedom. Besides, George R.R. Martin is also involved as a producer of the upcoming movie. In fact, he admitted that he has pretty very high hopes for the project.
“A24 is a kickass studio, and Alex Garland is a first rate director,” he wrote in his blog post.
‘Elden Ring’ Fans on Live-Action Directed by Alex Garland
“I’m sorry but I don’t understand why people aren’t excited or at least interested in this, you’d think Garland is some bum with how this news is being perceived,” Redditor Same_Bag711 said.
“Anyone expecting it to include every aspect of the game, is setting themselves up for failure. I don’t mind a streamlined story set in the world of Elden Ring. Really wish fandoms were more open minded about these things,” another fan, 13Nobodies on Reddit pointed out.
