10 Biggest Emmy Snubs, Ranked by How Outrageous They Are

Severance leads with 23 nominations, The Last of Us secures 16 nods — yet some of the TV industry’s most deserving frontrunners were brutally ignored. Here are TV shows and actors that we think definitely earned their spot on the Emmy list.
It might be way too early to predict those competing for the Oscars at the 2026 ceremony, but the Emmy season is already here, promising a high-stakes race for the frontrunners with the most nominations.
However, there’s no award season without some major snubs among both TV shows and their leads, and in this regard the current TV season might have hit the audiences especially hard.
We’re breaking down some shocking decisions that fans say might be putting the TV Academy in a very controversial position.
10. Abby Elliott — ‘The Bear’
Elliott’s Natalie aka Sugar has been the highlight of The Bear’s last couple of seasons, gradually becoming one of the essential figures to push the restaurant’s future forward.
The actress, however, was ignored at the Emmys, unlike her many co-stars.
9. Dichen Lachman & Christopher Walken — ‘Severance’

The hit show’s second season went onto new high-stakes levels thanks to Lachman’s Ms. Casey and Walken’s Burt Goodman, though neither of them was included in the respective category.
8. Paul W. Downs & Meg Stalter in — ‘Hacks’
Even though the comedy drama itself was one of the leaders with 14 nominations in total, both actors’ scene-stealing performances were completely overlooked.
7. Taylor Dearden — ‘The Pitt’
The actress’ breakout role as Dr. King secured her quite a fandom after The Pitt’s season 1 premiere, though Emmy voters clearly weren’t a part of it.
Dearden’s name isn’t included in the supporting actress category, despite many of her co-stars and the series itself getting nods.
6. Diego Luna — ‘Andor’

Despite the show being nominated for Best Drama, its lead is missing in the best actor category, probably ceding the spot to Pedro Pascal – who, surprisingly, went on to be included in the list.
5. Patrick Schwarzenegger & Sam Nivola — ‘The White Lotus’
The troubled siblings that went through a lot while at the White Lotus’ luxurious resort, neither Schwarzenegger nor Nivola were recognised by the TV Academy in the supporting actor category, despite the series nabbing a whopping amount of 23 nominations.
4. Steve Martin & Selena Gomez — ‘Only Murders in the Building’
Securing a nod in the Outstanding Comedy Series category, the show also might bring an award to one of its leads Martin Short.
However, both Steve Martin and Selena Gomez, as well as Only Murders in the Building’s other regular Meryl Streep, were left out.
3. Natasha Lyonne — ‘Poker Face’
The crime comedy drama did earn some other nominations, but still was left with nothing for its lead Natasha Lyonne.
Ironically, Poker Face’s season 1 secured the actress an acting nod back in 2023, though she didn’t win after all.
2. ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’

Hulu’s hit dystopian show wrapped its story up this year, but everything The Handmaid’s Tale’s season 6 got at the upcoming Emmys was a guest actress nod for Cherry Jones.
The series’ lead Elizabeth Moss, as well as the rest of the cast, were completely left out.
1. ‘Squid Game’

After a major win of six Emmys back in 2022, it’s pretty surprising to see Squid Game not getting a single nomination for either of its last two seasons, released last December and this June respectively.
Considering that the show was a massive hit and a cultural phenomenon, the Emmys voters might have failed especially hard this year.
