We've rounded up underrated horror films that have gotten lost in the streaming service's vast library, each of which deserves special attention from fans of the genre.

1. Oddity, 2024

Blind Darcy is a psychic who recently lost her sister after a murder in a country house – and there are many oddities in what happened. Darcy decides to solve the case herself, using a creepy wooden doll and her occult abilities.

The main thing in this bizarre Irish movie is not even the plot, but the feeling of absolute unease. It has a maniac, demonic artifacts and dark family secrets that are no less terrifying than mystical phenomena.

2. When Evil Lurks, 2023

Late one night, two farmer brothers, Pedro and Jimi, disturbed by the distant rumble of gunfire, decide to go on a scouting expedition. In the woods they see a body and scattered strange tools and notes.

Among the notes, the brothers find a reference to their elderly neighbor. The farmers go to find out the details of the massacre. Little does anyone know that these remains are a sign of the coming apocalypse.

When Evil Lurks is one of the best horror films of the last decade. Demián Rugna's movie does not terrify with jump scares, this is a horror about the ordinariness of evil, the hopelessness of terrible events, but with disgusting scenes like in the best body horror flicks.

3. Caveat, 2020

Isaac, who suffers from amnesia and knows nothing about his past, agrees to a friend's offer to take care of his niece, Olga. She lives far from civilization and suffers from a mental disorder after her mother disappeared without a trace and her father committed suicide in the basement.

Isaac goes to a remote island with a friend he cannot remember. And allows himself to be chained – all for the safety of Olga, who suffers from paranoia: this way, Isaac will not be able to enter certain rooms of the house.

4. Terrified, 2017

On a sleepy street somewhere in the suburbs of Buenos Aires, a series of terrifying events occur. First, a boy dies under the wheels of a bus, then a tenant of a neighboring house disappears, and something attacks the woman who lived next door.

The husband, who has been taken into custody, speaks of an invisible force, although he himself does not understand what exactly happened that night. Three paranormal investigators decide to spend the night in each of the houses.

5. MadS, 2024

While Hollywood, lacking ideas, remakes old hits, Europeans do not limit themselves and try something new. Fresh out of school, Romain takes a new drug at a party and on his way home meets a strange girl who bangs her head in a car and infects him with a zombie virus.

The main feature of MadS is that the movie is shot in one continuous long take: the power of editing does not help Romain or the viewer to escape the bloody chaos around them.

6. Color Out of Space, 2019

There is no more difficult task than adapting the work of H. P. Lovecraft for the big screen. The Color Out of Space attempted (and succeeded) in translating the effects of literature into the language of cinema.

A family arrives at a farm and sees an indescribably beautiful meteorite – its powerful energy will soon drive anyone who was careless enough to look at the pink artifact crazy.

Director Richard Stanley managed to do the most important thing – to convey the effect of boiling madness by inviting the undoubted expert in this field, Nic Cage, to play the leading role. The mesmerizing strangeness made the movie one of the best Lovecraft adaptations of the 21st century.

7. The Pact, 2018

One day Clara, Monica's daughter, disappears under strange circumstances. A few hours later, she is found in a comatose state.

Doctors are unable to find the cause of her illness and choose the right treatment. They are ready to remove Clara from life support, but Monica refuses to let her daughter go.

Refusing to accept the loss, she desperately attends a dark ritual where a mysterious man offers to save Clara's life if Monica makes a pact with him. The next day, Clara returns and Monica's journey to hell begins.

8. Red Rooms, 2023

Pascal Plante's Red Rooms is one of the most uncomfortable films of 2023. Model Kelly-Anne attends all the court hearings in the case of the madman Ludovic Chevalier, who killed three teenage girls and filmed the torture on camera.

Plante explores the public's obsession with brutal crimes and true crime. The model is so immersed in Chevalier's case that she seems ready to go hunting herself. The movie keeps you guessing from the first to the last minute: it is completely impossible to predict what terrible trick the evil-filled model will pull next.

9. Grafted, 2024

A movie that will definitely appeal to all fans of The Substance, it follows a student named Wei who goes to New Zealand to continue her medical studies at a prestigious university. Wei is a shy and reserved girl with a mole on her face that she tries to hide.

She is shunned by her popular cousin and friends. Determined to change her life, Wei delves into her late father's research and develops a revolutionary skin grafting procedure that can change her appearance.

10. Nightbreed, 1990

Clive Barker's novel Cabal, on which the movie is based, tells the story of the lost underground city of Midian, which hides a secret society of monsters and mutants.

Released in the early '90s, Nightbreed was a box office flop and was met with a cool reception from viewers and critics, largely due to an unsuccessful advertising campaign.
