Even die-hard fans of both shows could have missed these familiar faces.

The Sopranos and Boardwalk Empire deserve to be considered some of the best crime dramas. They're both HBO productions, and Terence Winter, the creator of Boardwalk Empire, had a hand in The Sopranos too.

So, it's no surprise that a bunch of talented actors from the former also appeared in the latter.

Steve Buscemi

The legend Steve Buscemi is of course the first on the list. In The Sopranos, Buscemi portrayed Tony Blundetto, Tony Soprano’s cousin. Later, he landed the leading role in Boardwalk Empire as Nucky Thompson, a role that truly allowed Buscemi to shine.

Aleksa Palladino

In The Sopranos, Aleksa played a minor character of Allesandra who appeared in only two episodes. However, she had a recurring role on Boardwalk Empire as Jimmy Darmody’s wife Angela.

Max Casella

Benny Fazio, the loyal but somewhat clumsy member of the Soprano crew, was portrayed by Max Casella. He later appeared in Boardwalk Empire as Leo D’Alessio, a part of a band of brothers causing trouble in Atlantic City.

Brian Geraghty

Dominic Chianese

Dominic Chianese is best known for his role as Uncle Junior in The Sopranos. In Boardwalk Empire, he took on the character of Leander Whitlock, an elderly New Jersey lawyer.

Will Janowitz

Janowitz is best known for playing Meadow Soprano's fiancé, Finn DeTrolio, in The Sopranos. In Boardwalk Empire, he portrayed yet another real-life gangster, Hymie Weiss.

Vincent Piazza

Vincent Piazza played a minor character, Hernan O'Brien, in The Sopranos, but he struck gold in Boardwalk Empire with the role of the infamous gangster, Lucky Luciano.
