16-Year-Old Mabel and a New Book: Disney Is Ready for More 'Gravity Falls' — Voice Cast Ready

But the creator of this beloved world remains mysteriously silent.
Gravity Falls is one of those shows that stays with you long after the finale. Even though the show felt complete, it still left just enough space for me to wonder: what if there were more?
When Alex Hirsch ended Gravity Falls after season two, he said the story was finished. The finale was emotional, thoughtful, and satisfying. Bill Cipher was defeated. Dipper and Mabel went home. But fans never gave up hope. And now, there’s a reason not to.
In September 2024, Disney unexpectedly brought the show back into conversation. Studio VP Meredith Roberts said they’re "talking with Alex" and added, "never say never."
Hirsch is working on a new book and short films set in the Gravity Falls universe. That keeps the door open for a third season, a special, or something else entirely.
If there’s a continuation, fans have just one request: don’t touch the original ending. Let it be a new chapter, a fresh summer, a new adventure — not a rewrite.
Kristen Schaal, the voice of Mabel, said she’d love to return as a sixteen-year-old version of the character. Hirsch hasn’t commented yet. But maybe that silence is a good sign. The best sequels often start quietly.
