There's no denying that in the 2000s there was no network more interesting than MTV, at least for reality TV fans!

However, even though reality shows were still doing exceptionally well at the beginning of 2010, MTV's producers decided to try something new and focus more on scripted shows.

Here are the 10 best MTV shows of the last decade, ranked:

As you can see, most of the shows on this list are reality shows, as MTV's ability to produce such projects hasn't gone anywhere despite the introduction of scripted shows.

It's not that the reality projects mentioned above aren't worth watching - on the contrary, you can use this list as a definitive guide to the genre in the last decade, as the network was still at the top of its game at the time, and no one in the industry could compete with it.

That said, MTV remained relevant in the 2010s thanks in large part to its fresh scripted shows, of which "Teen Wolf " and "Scream " became the most popular.

And we should really give credit to the creators of these shows - both of these projects seemed unmistakably MTV, despite being scripted, which was definitely a hard thing to achieve with fiction without any reality TV elements.

Here are all the shows mentioned: Teen Wolf (2011), Finding Carter (2014), Awkward. (2011), Girl Code (2013), Faking It (2014), Catfish: The TV Show (2012), Scream (2015), Are You The One? (2014), Friendzone (2011), Ridiculousness (2011).
