Did you even know these recognized actors haven’t got a single Academy award.

The Oscars night is just around the corner, getting ready to surprise fans with its results.

One of the main award categories, the Best Actor one, features a battle of its main contender, Cillian Murphy, with his colleagues, which the Oppenheimer star is likely to win.

However, there are some actors who, despite their thrilling performances and tons of people’s love, haven’t received a treasured statue. Here is the trio that needs to win an Oscar ASAP.

1. Robert Downey Jr.

The star of MCU ( Iron Man, the Avengers franchise) Robert Downey Jr. is regarded as one of the highest-grossing and the most influential actors of all time. Despite his acclaimed talent and enormous popularity, he never won an Oscar award.

He was actually nominated by the Academy for the Best Actor award for Chaplin in 1992, and then for Best Supporting Actor in 2009 for Tropic Thunder, but both times he lost.

This year he also got a nomination for his portrayal of Lewis Strauss in Oppenheimer, thus, Downey’s road to the Oscar dream may come to an end this week, on March 10.

2. Johnny Depp

Surprisingly, this giant of the cinema industry has never won an Oscar either. His way to his current status of one of the well-known actors of the century took decades, from his starring in A Nightmare on Elm Street in the 1980s to being the main person representing the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise in the 2000s and 2010s.

Throughout his long career he has only received three Oscar nominations for his roles in Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl, Finding Neverland and Sweeny Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.

However, Depp himself stated he doesn’t strive to win an Academy Award, highlighting his focus on the quality of his performance.

3. Bill Murray

Being the king of light comedy movies and having such an Internet fanbase, Bill Murray hasn't yet got much of the Academy's attention, apart from his 2004 nomination for his role in Lost in Translation, presumably, due to the specificity of his roles and cameos.

Nevertheless, appearing in almost every Wes Anderson movie, he still attracts the Internet’s attention and steals fans’ hearts by his touching and witty performances.
