When Will '3 Body Problem' Season 2 Be Released?
3 Body Problem was renewed for two seasons at once, which was announced in May 2024, two months after the series premiered.
Unfortunately, fans shouldn't expect the next chapter to be released quickly – not even approximate dates have been announced yet. Most likely, the new season will not be released until the second half of 2026 or the beginning of 2027.
Who Is in the Cast of '3 Body Problem'?
Jovan Adepo will return as Saul Durand and will likely be one of the season's main characters, as well as his new friend Clarence Shi, played by Benedict Wong.
Jess Hong, who played Jin Cheng, will likely appear as well. Liam Cunningham will likely remain in the role of Thomas Wade – in the finale, it was hinted that the San-Ti have plans for him.
The status of Eiza González, who played Auggie Salazar, is uncertain. If the writers follow the books, her character won't appear in Season 2. However, they could change the plot to keep the famous actress in the cast.

The first season was based on the book 3 Body Problem, but there were storylines that came from the sequels.
The Wallfacer project was described in the second book, The Dark Forest, and the launch of the brain into space was described in the third book, Death's End. Based on this, we can speculate about how the events will unfold.
One of the storylines will most likely be dedicated to the Wallfacer project. The participants, who were introduced in the first season, will develop their own ideas for fighting the invaders, and the members of the ETO will try to unravel their plans.
The second storyline will probably unfold 200 years in the future. Some characters from the first season will emerge from hibernation, and humanity will have built a star fleet by this time.
The Trisolaris weapon will be stronger than expected. Humanity will have to choose between submitting to the invaders or finding a new way to fight them.
