3 Harry Potter Spinoffs Fans Want Instead of the Cursed HBO Remake

Few people actually wanted a Harry Potter remake. In the Wizarding World, many events and personalities deserve the attention they didn't get in the main story. We picked three of the best concepts for a Wizarding World TV show – here they are.
A Harry Potter series from HBO seemed like a dubious idea from the very start – even though the original films were released over 20 years ago, they are still passionately loved and revisited.
The Harry Potter universe is vast and rich with events that we have yet to see on the big and small screen – and here are three spinoffs that fans would enjoy far more than a remake of the classic story.
1. A Thriller About the Death Eaters
Joker and Cruella are both movies where the main character is the villain. These projects resonate with viewers because in the age of superhero movies, people are tired of seeing good characters who never make mistakes and act as if there is no evil in them. Redditor trhnwy wrote:
“I'd love some povs from the death eaters, like Lucius and Bellatrix. Even Dolohov. How did he work about his curses ? How did they actually fear or feel loyal to Voldemort?”
A Death Eaters movie or series could not only show the terrible things they did from their perspective, but also explore whether there were some of them who had no choice, who were broken like Snape, who genuinely regretted their actions, and who were afraid of not following another cruel order.
2. A TV Series About Marauders
Harry Potter himself, as well as viewers who have not read the books, were surprised to learn that the Marauders who created the Marauder's Map were James Potter, Remus Lupin, Peter Pettigrew and Sirius Black.
As for the books, they did not go far in revealing the Marauders, although this is a very fascinating topic, because as we know, James, Sirius and Peter once found out that Remus hid in the Shrieking Shack every full moon, and instead of laughing at him and ceasing to be friends, they mastered Transfiguration to keep him company.
This fragment of the Marauders' story is only a small part of what can be shown on screen – the adventures of these four are eventful and adored by fans, which would definitely attract millions of viewers to the screens. Redditor PopsicleIncorporated wrote:
“Each season would cover a year at Hogwarts, and would cover all the perks of living there. It could focus in-detail on everyday things like classes, [...] and the like while at the same time also having Quidditch or nightly wanderings under the cloak.”
Isn't it a great idea?
3. A Prequel About The First Wizarding War Against Voldemort
The First Wizarding War is rarely mentioned in the original movies, even though it lasted several years.
It began after the Death Eaters began committing crimes they had not dared before. It was during this time that Albus Dumbledore formed the Order of the Phoenix out of teachers, Hogwarts graduates and other wizards.
During this war, the prophecy of the Chosen One was first revealed, Neville lost his parents, and Regulus Black hid one of Voldemort's Horcruxes from him. Reddit user Modred_the_Mystic commented:
“Full scale magical war would be great to watch. Political intrigue, high mortality rate for central cast, plenty of action and horror.”
This is an extremely eventful period in the history of the wizarding world, and HBO missed a great opportunity to show viewers something they had never seen on screen before. Besides, it sounds like a great sequel idea for the previous concept, even chronologically.
