One of Lisa's most heartbreaking crushes comes in the episode Lisa's Substitute, where she falls in love with her substitute teacher, Mr. Bergstrom. He is kind, intelligent, and encouraging in a way that her family often is not. And he treated Lisa as an equal, which was always important for her.

Unfortunately, the relationship is short-lived. Mr. Bergstrom is a substitute, so he has to leave for another school, and Lisa is devastated by his departure.

2. Nelson Muntz

Nelson is a school bully, the one even Bart is afraid of, but for a brief moment when he showed his softer side to the world, Lisa noticed it. The two carefully tried to become a couple, and it seemed like they were perfect for each other, bringing out the best in both of them.

While it seemed like the beginning of a strange but sweet romance, it quickly turned sour. As usual, it was too hard to be together when you are so different. And Nelson wasn't ready for total change and serious commitment, so they had to break up.

3. Luke Stetson

Luke is a ranch boy that Lisa also had a crush on. And let me tell you, it brought out the worst in her. While blinded by jealousy, she mistook Luke's sister Clara for his girlfriend and deliberately sent her the wrong way while they were riding together. When Luke later revealed that Clara was his sister, Lisa regretted what she had done and rushed to Clara's rescue. But that was the end of the romance between her and Luke.
