This May is going to get very busy very soon, as many TV channels and streaming services are presenting some hotly anticipated new shows.

However, everyone knows that Disney+ 'Obi-Wan Kenobi ' and Netflix 's 'Stranger Things ' Season 4 will dominate most conversations, so it would be interesting to learn about less widely anticipated but nonetheless interesting shows.

So, without further ado, here are 3 series worth watching this May:

'The Staircase' (HBO Max )

HBO Max is clearly asserting its dominance when it comes to prestige television dramas with a pretty strong cast. The upcoming true-crime series starring Colin Firth, Toni Collette and Dane DeHaan will tell the story of disgraced novelist Michael Peterson, accused and convicted of killing his wife by pushing her down the stairs. The 8-episode mini-series will be directed by Antionio Campos ('The Devil All the Time') and is sure to serve as a much-needed thriller to gorge on this May.

'Night Sky' (Amazon Prime)

Good sci-fi series aren't easy to find, but it looks like a new one from Amazon will appeal to many fans of the genre. Immensely talented duo J.K. Simmons and Sissy Spacek star in 'Night Sky' as a couple who discover a secret camera in the backyard of their home, allowing them to travel to a strange desert planet. As they try to uncover the story behind this place's demise, characters will encounter ancient secrets, conspiracies, and good old-fashioned family drama.
