These women left us wondering why they couldn't just give their husbands a break.

Watching a TV show, we often find ourselves deeply invested in the lives of the main characters. But there are times when there comes a character who just rubs us the wrong way. And sometimes, this character is the antagonist’s wife.

Here are some of the most disliked wives in TV history.

Carmela Soprano (The Sopranos )

Carmela Soprano had a knack for saying one thing while doing another. Throughout The Sopranos, she couldn't help but complain about her husband, Tony, and his mobster lifestyle. Funny thing is, she knew exactly who he was from the start.

Six seasons in, and we were treated to endless whining about things she was already well aware of. While she'd defend Tony in front of the FBI, therapists, and the mob, her domestic life was like a rollercoaster of discontent.

Margaret Thomson (Boardwalk Empire )

Margaret Thomson, the queen of finding things to complain about. She had a habit of griping to Nucky about his bootlegging business, completely forgetting that it's what pulled her out of a tough situation.

While she could've been grateful for her new life, she chose to channel her energy into nagging. In her case, it’s hard to say we’ve seen character development, — more like character regression.

Lori Grimes (The Walking Dead )

Her treatment of Rick and others around her left a lot to be desired. Her eventual departure from the show, while tragic, didn't exactly leave a gaping hole in the hearts of many fans. But even after her death, Lori managed to annoy viewers as a vision Rick saw when he went nuts after losing her.

Skyler White (Breaking Bad )

Breaking Bad's Skyler White had a complex relationship with her meth-cooking husband, Walter. She was hated for many reasons, fair and unfair. While we might cut her some slack for the stress of it all, her default reaction seemed to be anger.

While Walter was nowhere near saint, Skyler's moral compass wasn't exactly pointing north either.
