5 Best TV Series About Superheroes to Binge While Waiting for 'The Boys' Season 5
The Boys is not the only series offering a fresh perspective on superheroes.
Prime Video recently released a trailer for the fifth and final season of The Boys, which is premiering not-so-soon – on April 8.
To make the wait easier, we've compiled a list of five similar TV series that reimagine the superhero genre.
1. 'Doom Patrol', 2019-2023

Doom Patrol could have been just another superhero series if its plot weren't centered on third-rate heroes who don't know how to control their abilities.
Former racecar driver Cliff must learn to live in a robot body, pilot Larry must learn to control a being of pure energy, movie star Rita must learn to manage her panic attacks, Jane must learn to accept her 64 personalities, and Cyborg must learn to let go of the past.
2. 'Preacher', 2016-2019

Calista meets Krispin, a man whose father was killed by a supervillain, and they develop a mutual attraction.

When Arthur was young, he witnessed the villain Terror murder the heroes, including his father. Arthur was deeply affected by his father's death, so he yearns for justice and refuses to believe that Terror died in battle with Superian.
Arthur tracks down a gang of criminals in hopes of finding answers but instead stumbles upon a strange superhero wearing a giant blue beetle costume. The Tick isn't the brightest, but he has a kind heart.
He also has a bulletproof suit and superhuman strength. Together, they pursue the dangerous villain and plan to fight back.
