5. '30 Days of Night', 2007

Led by Sheriff Eben, the surviving locals struggle to survive against supernatural forces in an uneven battle. When food supplies run low, the people resort to drastic measures.
Unlike Sinners, which delays the confrontation between humans and vampires until the third act, 30 Days of Night quickly gets to the violence, building the main tension around the central plot intrigue: which characters will survive until the first rays of light?

Rotten Tomatoes Score: 66%

Queen of the Damned is an adaptation of one of Anne Rice's most famous vampire novels that chronicles the adventures of the immortal vampire Lestat.

According to the plot, Akasha awakens from a centuries-long slumber to conquer the world with her army of vampires.

Rotten Tomatoes Score: 75%

The Lost Boys was one of the first horror films to combine the dark image of vampires with postmodernism. This trend was subsequently picked up by the series Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the movies Interview with the Vampire and Blade.
All of these projects achieved cult status, but The Lost Boys is the least remembered one.

Ultimately, Mae's pack reluctantly agrees to accept Caleb into their ranks on one condition: Caleb must start killing people in rural Oklahoma. Otherwise, they will kill him.
Predictably, Kathryn Bigelow's vampire western failed to make much of a splash at the box office, but film buffs should definitely not miss this unexpected mix of genre, plot, and director.
