5 Criminally Underwatched TV Shows Everybody Needs to Check Out

There is so much more to watch than just Friends and Lost.
Having too many options to choose from can be frustrating, especially when it comes to TV shows. The industry offers so much in so many genres that it's not hard to overlook some truly worthy shows and just follow the ones with great marketing.
There are a lot of shows with amazing stories, perfect character development, and intriguing plot twists, but for some reason, no one is talking about them. We searched Reddit and came up with 5 shows that you must watch if you're looking for something refreshing and unique — and not mainstream.
1. Joe Pera Talks With You (2018-2021)
The series stars comedian Joe Pera as a fictionalized version of himself living in Michigan's Upper Peninsula and teaching choir at a local middle school. Pera tries to speak directly to the audience about seemingly ordinary topics such as iron, Sunday breakfasts, dancing, sleeping, music and so much more.
“I genuinely think this is one of the most creatively inspired TV shows of the past decade. It's well loved by Adult Swim fans but I'm waiting for the rest of the world to wake up to this beautiful, healing, and hilarious "Mr. Rogers for adults." Joe's gentle, kind demeanor is just what the world needs right now,” Redditor FloridaFlamingoGirl said.
2. Timeless (2016-2018)
It’s hard to believe that so few people watched Timeless, but maybe they just don’t want to watch it knowing that it was canceled? Still, big mistake, huge.
Timeless is a time travel drama that blends history with science fiction. The story centers on a group of unlikely heroes tasked to stop the criminal mastermind who has stolen a time machine and is beginning to alter history. The show is both entertaining and educational, definitely a must watch.
“Timeless was so amazing. I hate that it got cancelled and then their perfect bow panic wrapped it up. I think they did the best they could to finish it but we deserved more seasons!!” Redditor jcs213 said.
3. Halt and Catch Fire (2014-2017)
Another iconic show that deserves all the attention it hasn't gotten is Halt and Catch Fire. Set during the tech boom of the 1980s and 1990s, it explores the era of the digital revolution from the perspective of a group of visionary but rather flawed characters. The story centers on Gordon, Joe, Cameron and Donna and their personal and professional lives.
4. Reservation Dogs (2021–2023)
Reservation Dogs is an extraordinary show that focuses on the stories of teenagers in rural Oklahoma. Created by Sterlin Harjo and the beloved Taika Waititi, this dramedy follows four Native American teens as they navigate their lives while dealing with personal loss, dreams of escape, and the struggles that come with living on a reservation.
The series has been praised for its authentic portrayal of Native culture, its sharp wit, and the development of its diverse characters. With a cast of mostly Indigenous actors, Reservation Dogs is a groundbreaking show that highlights perspectives often underrepresented in mainstream media.
5. The Other Two (2019-2023)
This series is a hilarious and satirical look at the world of fame and social media. The Other Two centers on two siblings, Cary and Brooke, whose teenage brother, Chase Dreams, skyrockets to fame with a viral song.
While the show is a sharp take on the superficial nature of fame and the pressures that come with it, it's also deeply character-driven and brings several different teen perspectives to the forefront.
