These actors have traveled a long road to international fame.

Most actors have to start their careers with episodic roles here and there before they finally find the one that allows them to move up to the big leagues. And once the star is famous, it is always fun to find their face in unexpected supporting roles from the past.

Here are five forgotten episodic roles by now world-famous actors and actresses.

Karen GillanDoctor Who

Of course, the role of Amy Pond is now one of the most recognizable in Karen Gillan's career, but the actress actually appeared on the show a bit earlier. You can see Gillan in Episode 2 of Season 4, 'The Fires of Pompeii,' as the Soothsayer. That's two years before she officially joined the cast as Amy.

Nowadays, everyone knows that Lady Gaga is not only a great singer, but also a brilliant actress, as she proved with her performances in A Star Is Born (2018) and House of Gucci (2021).

But the real acting debut of Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta (the singer's real name) came in 2021 when she appeared in Episode 9 of Season 3 of The Sopranos as 'Girl at Swimming Pool #2.'

Pedro Pascal – NYPD Blue

Long before he earned the love of millions of fans with his performances in Game of Thrones, The Mandalorian, The Last of Us, and many other projects, Pedro Pascal appeared in a very different role as Shane 'Dio' Morrissey in Season 8, Episode 9 of NYPD Blue.

Michael B. Jordan – House, M.D.

The acclaimed medical drama series featured several now-Hollywood stars in their earlier years, and Michael B. Jordan was one of them. Prior to his landmark performances as Adonis Creed and Erik Killmonger, the actor portrayed blind patient Will Westwood in Season 8, Episode 14.

Millie Bobby Brown – Grey's Anatomy

Like House, Grey's Anatomy has had some future stars in supporting roles. Before her breakout role as Eleven in the hit Netflix series Stranger Things, Millie Bobby Brown appeared on Grey's as a girl whose mother became ill after an earthquake in Season 11, Episode 15.
