The South Korean TV industry has added the "fake marriage" trope to the list of most used in their series, and it has been one of the best things they have done, because we have these five perfect K-dramas to stream.
1. Because This Is My First Life (2017)
An atypical couple struggling with their own problems is the focus of this drama. The series revolves around Nam Se Hee and Yoon Ji Ho, who became a kind of family while sharing a house.
The thing is, Se Hee is a homeowner who is actually not that happy about it because he has to pay a lot for his mortgage. He decided to live an unmarried life, but when Ji Ho, a homeless woman, comes into his life, he decides that it would be wise to share the house with her.
2. Perfect Marriage Revenge (2023)

The new K-drama tells the twisted story of a dysfunctional family that becomes more complicated with each episode. At the center of the story is Han Yi Joo, an adopted girl whose foster family never liked her. She was isolated from everyone, including her younger sister Han Yoo Ra.
She marries a man and then discovers that he is really in love with her sister, and on the same day she gets into a car accident and dies... But she comes back with a time travel twist and finds herself powerful enough to change her fate. She turns the tables and ends up married to her sister's crush.
3. The Story of Park's Marriage Contract (2023)
Fans of the faux marriage trope love the newly released show for its compelling storyline and endearing characters. The show is initially set in the 19th century, but has the time travel twist that fans love so much.
Park Yeon Woo is a young woman about to get married when her husband suddenly dies, leaving her devastated. However, she does not get a chance to mourn because she is kidnapped. When she wakes up, she sees a man who looks exactly like her dead husband. How can this not be fate?
4. My Demon (2023)

If you're tired of all these dreary human shenanigans, let's turn our attention to K-dramas that focus on human-demon relationships. At the center of the story in My Demon we have Do Do Hee, a cynical young woman who relies only on herself and thinks love is a joke.
One day she finds herself making a deal with a demon, specifically signing a marriage contract. But when this happens, the demon Jung Gu Won realizes that he has lost his powers to her and now he has to do everything to survive on earth.
5. Marriage Contract (2016)
This is probably one of the most famous K-dramas that dealt with the topic of faux marriage. The story revolves around Kang Hye Soo, a young single mother who discovers that she is terminally ill and is afraid that her little daughter will be left with nothing after her death.
In order to provide for her, she decides to marry her new boss and give her liver to his dying mother. In exchange, he will make sure that her child is financially supported. But life had more in store for them.
