There’s so much more to explore.

Historical drama has probably become the most popular genre these days, and frankly, we couldn't be happier with this trend.

The world of period drama is so vast, and there are so many things worth watching, that it seems unfair to focus only on the most popular shows like Outlander ( even though we love it with all our hearts).

Here are five period dramas that are definitely worth your attention, as they have already caused quite a stir on social media.

Set in the Victorian era, the show revolves around Eliza Scarlet. When her father dies, he leaves her absolutely penniless, still she decides to continue his work as the head of a detective agency.

However, at that time it was uncanny for the young woman to be in such a business, especially alone, so she accidentally finds herself a partner in the face of another detective known as "The Duke."

2. The Woman in White (2018)

The forbidden love story unfolds when a painter named Walter comes to the house to teach the girls, and he and Laura fall in love. But they are not destined to be together, because she already has a fiancé. However, the real reason for this arranged marriage is really scary…

One of the most popular series today, and there are many reasons why. The scandalous affairs, the unexpected plot twists, the historical accuracy and of course the stunning costumes are just a small part of what makes this series a masterpiece.

At the heart of the series is a never-ending drama between new money and old money. The Russels on one side and the van Rhijn family on the other, along with many other families claiming whose world it was in 1880s New York City.
