Some of those are worth to be affirmations.

The Office has truly touched the hearts of many people, not only because of its brilliant humor and interesting concept, but also because of how relatable the characters are. And how easy it is to see your own office colleagues in any of them.

If you ever thought of yourself as an artistic, gentle soul trapped in office-appropriate shirts and forced to deal with sales instead of pursuing your dreams, you have a lot in common with Pam Beesly.

While we cannot offer you John Krasinski 's Jim to brighten up your days, we can offer you a little of Pam's wisdom to get you through the workweek.

“I don't think it's many little girls' dream to be a receptionist.”

Pam always dreamed of doing something bigger than being a receptionist, and she did! In addition to exploring her illustration talent in a more academic environment, she was able to grow into a salesperson. Not the most successful, but a dedicated one for sure.

“I used to be young and cute and sorta funny and I could do those cute, little cartoons. And everyone who came through here was like, “Who’s that receptionist? I like her.” Now I’m just a fat mom.”

Unfortunately, sometimes we all look back and envy our old selves. As much as Pam hated her position as a receptionist, she managed to find something good about it when she lost it. The lesson here is to cherish every moment, even the ones that don't seem like the best because you really don't know where you'll be tomorrow.

“...and I doubled my sales last month!”

It's the ‘YUP’ part that really makes this moment so good. Doubling your sales from 2 to 4 when you absolutely don't like selling to anyone is a great result. So Pam has every right to be proud of what she has accomplished, no matter what other people may say. After all, the only person you shall compare yourself to is your own past self.

“The ice melts… And then it's like second drink!”

That should be everyone’s new motto instead of the old and boring half-full glass. Pam really has a gift for seeing little positives in things that usually mean something negative, so more power to her for drinking the slightly syrupy water after the ice melted.

“There's a lot of beauty in ordinary things. Isn't that kind of the point?”

There is a reason why this quote from Pam was the very last of the entire show. She was the one who was able to take all the small and ordinary, mundane office things and turn them into sweet and memorable moments. And we, as viewers, certainly saw the same thing. The only fair thing to do is to keep that approach for our own lives.
