Although The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel ended a few years ago, some scenes from the series are still in my mind. These moments prove that the show deserves your time.

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is definitely not a typical series. It premiered in 2017 and immediately became a fan favorite. While it is a comedy, the series definitely has a vibe of a period drama, with all the 1950s settings and agendas.

The series is focused on a woman and her place in society. The main role of Miriam Maisel is played by Rachel Brosnahan. In the show, she is depicted as a devoted wife, mother, and daughter, who has to only play the roles given to her by the society and never dream of something bigger.

However, one day she finds out that her husband cheated on her, gets drunk and visits a local bar where she climbs up the stage and gives a monologue which ends up being her first stand up comedy gig.

That’s a scene that stole my heart, along with these 4.

1. Midge's first impromptu stage performance (Season 1, Episode 1)

Heartbroken, drunk, wearing her pajamas, Miriam ends up in Gaslight Café and finds her way to the stage, where she, neverminding the audience, starts venting about her life situation. She was left by her husband, Joel, because he went to live with his secretary.

The performance was hilarious, and the fact that she ended up in jail for flashing the audience just added charm to the scene.

2. “Ya jivu v bolshom dome na kholme” (Season 1, Episode 2)

That’s actually how the second episode is called, but also the first thing Miriam says during her second time on stage. The phrase, as Midge explains, comes from a popular Russian novel. And the fact that she finally accepts who she is and that she starts letting go of opinions just makes me happy.

So everytime I want to try not to give a damn about whatever society thinks, I mumble this phrase.

3. Lenny Bruce’s “All alone” (Season 2, Episode 10)

Can I say nothing about this one and just force you to watch the video? Thank you.

4. Midge and Lenny & the hotel scene (Season 3, Episode 5)

The scene is actually almost 10 minutes long, and it’s the finale of episode 5 of season 3. Everything about Midge and Lenny’s tandem is poetic, you feel the energy, the passion. But you still understand that their romance is something that is never going to be real.

“The scene at the bar and the scene at Lenny’s hotel are perfect tv in my opinion. The chemistry, the lines, the cinematography, the music. Just perfect,” Redditor AlwaysNYC said.

5. How Susie befriends her kidnappers (Season 2, Episode 1)

How can I omit one of the funniest Susie moments? When the woman was abducted by two goons hired by Harry Drake, she suddenly learns that they are from the same neighbourhood as her. So her hostage situation changes for the better, and the three of them become best friends.
