Some of them are better than the real ones.

It's not uncommon for a TV show to have several alternate endings, and even to film them. Sometimes they are added because something changed along the way and the original didn't work.

Sometimes they're filmed publicly to trick viewers into thinking they know something about the show when they don't.

They all do it for different reasons, but they all end up confusing the fanbase. What's even more annoying is that sometimes these leaked endings turn out to be better than the final cut.

Here are 5 examples of shows you won't be able to watch again without thinking about how things could have been.

Squid Game

One of the most shocking and popular shows of 2021 could have ended differently.

Creator and director Hwang Dong-hyuk confirmed this to Entertainment Weekly, saying that they were always choosing between two endings for Gi-hun, who could've left and pursued his own happiness.

Killing Eve

We all remember the heartbreak of the show's ending. But what if there was an alternate reality where both characters get to live?

Well, that, along with several other options, has been discussed, as showrunner Laura Neal admitted to Collider.

How I Met Your Mother

This is the perfect example of a show where the possible ending was not only discussed or written, but actually filmed.

It's no secret that many HIMYM fans actually prefer the ending where the children's mother lives and the family lives happily ever after instead of Ted ending up with Robyn.

Friends

If in the past the alternate ending meant a happy love story, in Friends they almost completely broke up Rachel and Ross by not letting her get off the plane.

Although this would probably be more believable and realistic, it would just ruin the magic of the show.

Breaking Bad

All the credit for the brilliant idea behind this alternate ending goes to Bryan Cranston himself. In this reality, everything that happened in Breaking Bad was just a dream of his Malcolm in the Middle character.

This scene is hilarious and works perfectly to relieve the tension of the actual finale.
