1. 'The Last Time I Saw Richard', 2013

In a mental hospital, two men meet: a reckless bully haunted by nightmares and a withdrawn Richard who experiences nightmares in real life.

Aaron Sims, who worked on the effects of Rise of the Planet of the Apes and Ready Player One, made this short film about a faceless monster that can appear in any apartment.
5. 'I Heard It Too', 2014
There's no mistaking a mother's voice. Little Bethany wakes up in the middle of the night and hears her mother calling her from downstairs. The voice grows angrier and more demanding as the girl decides whether to go down the dark hallway.

A lonely man is walking home at 2 a.m. On his way, he meets a man who is smiling mysteriously. The smile looks unnatural, as if glued to his face.

One of the most famous short films was the basis for a full-length horror film of the same name that grossed almost $150 million at the box office. The director of both movies is Andy Muschietti, who will later direct the highest-grossing horror film in history – It.
The movie tells the story of two sisters with difficult fates who are trying to escape their own mother. They are pursued by a frightening entity from which there seems to be nowhere to hide.
