The good, the bad, the most memorable. These are 8 Snatch Game performances that changed the way I see the show forever.

Competing on RuPaul's Drag Race is hard and takes a lot of skills to succeed. You need to know how to do your makeup. You need to have a distinctive style but also show some versatility to the judges. You need to be funny and vulnerable (sometimes both at the same time). But the biggest challenge for all the queens is none other than Snatch Game.

The inevitable challenge that either makes or breaks the queens' record in the competition. Snatch Game is about quick wit, adaptability and that special ability to make RuPaul cackle.

I love the challenge, not only for its hilarious impressions, but for the ones that flop so badly they become iconic. These are 8 best and worst Snatch Games that live rent-free in my head.

Jinkx Monsoon as Judy Garland: The Queen of All Queens

“Do we have time for one more?”

Back in her original Season 5, Jinkx's impression of Little Edie was phenomenal. But it's her Judy Garland on All Stars Season 7 that stuck with me for good.

All Stars 7 proved to be a pressure cooker. The winners from the previous seasons are back to show who is truly the queen of all queens. And Jinkx Monsoon's Snatch Game might have just provided us with the answer.

It was truly one of the smartest Snatch Games ever played. The panel let her sing two times during the game. And Michelle Visage completely losing it during the Dave part still makes me cry-laugh every time I rewatch it.

Jinkx won the season all thanks to charisma, uniqueness, nerve, talent and this absolutely brilliant Snatch Game.

Trixie Mattel as RuPaul: Beautiful Disaster

“Winner winner, chicken...dinner.”

Now if Miss Jinkx Monsoon won by handling Snatch Game like a pro, Trixie Mattel absolutely bombed the challenge, yet ended up being on top of the game later on.

This Snatch Game is so bad it hasn't left my mind since it came out. The audacity of impersonating RuPaul in front of Ru deserves some kind of award in itself. While the performance was a flop, it gave us one of the most quotable moments in Drag Race herstory.

Kennedy Davenport as Little Richard: Making Herstory

“WOOOOOOO! Shut up!”

Kennedy Davenport is the first ever queen to do a male impersonation on Snatch Game. She opened the doors for future queens to step into any character they'd like.

Her performance was so electric, so perfectly captured, and without it, we might never have seen other iconic male impersonations that followed. Thanks to Kennedy, queens now have twice as many characters to choose from (though that doesn't always mean they choose wisely).

Alyssa Edwards as Katy Perry: Apology Needed

RuPaul: Have you ever kissed a girl?

Alyssa (as Katy): Ugh! Ru, never.

Alyssa's Joan Crawford on All Stars Season 2 was so good, but it was her Season 5 impersonation of Katy Perry that can't let me go.

This is a performance you want to forget but just can't. And there will come a point where you actually start unironically enjoying the disaster. This Snatch Game was so bad Alyssa had to actually apologize to Katy Perry on X. She wrote:

And every time I think about it, it makes me laugh. I mean, when your impersonation is so off that you need to apologize to the actual celebrity, you know you've created something special.

Alaska as Mae West: The Gold Standard of Snatch Game

“When I'm good, I'm good, but when I'm bad I get a serious venereal disease”

I won't lie, All Stars Season 2 is one of my favorite seasons ever. And if I could include every snatch game (good or bad) from this season, I would. But that would be just too unfair.

Alaska hit every single line Ru threw at her. She was present, focused and absolutely hilarious. This performance shows exactly what Snatch Game should be: character accuracy, quick wit, and the ability to make RuPaul laugh.

It was the kind of performance that makes other queens go “Yeah, well, there's the winner.”

Yara Sofia as Amy Winehouse: Lost in Translation

“Lubricant remover.”

The beauty of this performance lies in its complete disconnection from reality. While Amy was known for her British accent, Yara gave us something that existed in a parallel universe where Amy was from Paris and Berlin at the same time.

Every single time I rewatch this episode, I find something new to love about how wonderfully wrong it all went. This is a true fever dream where nothing makes sense but you're having too much fun to care.

Jujubee as Eartha Kitt Is Purrrfection

“I would sensually walk to the thermostat, and turn up the thermostat to a sensible 74.”

If you haven't seen Jujubee's Eartha Kitt in All Stars 5, stop reading and go watch it now. I'll wait. This performance made RuPaul wheeze with laughter and that's the highest praise possible on Snatch Game.

This is what happens when a queen really gets what Snatch Game is about. Jujubee understood the assignment and let the character's natural sensuality and wit do the thing.

Phi Phi O'Hara as Lady Gaga: A Bad Romance with Snatch Game

"Work it gurl! Give it a twirl! Give it a twirl! Give it a twiiiiirl!"

Oh, the irony of poorly impersonating one of the greatest LGBTQ+ allies in pop culture today. Phi Phi O'Hara's Lady Gaga on Season 4 was an epic miss and Ross Matthews' face after her introduction says it all.

If there's one thing this taught us, it's that sometimes the biggest personalities are the hardest to capture. Yet I still have hope for future generations of queens to do Gaga justice.
