8. Mouch’s Donut Prank War

One of the worst feelings you can have when watching a TV show is the burning second-hand embarrassment when your favorite characters do something really stupid and you just want to sink into the couch never to be found. Mouch’s donut prank war against Firehouse 40 induced this feeling in every last viewer, so… Duh.

7. Dawson Lusting After Casey

Let’s be real here: Gabby Dawson was never anyone’s favorite character, save for the guys that only loved her for her looks. Among the many wrong things about her attitude to people, her complete disregard for Matt Casey’s feelings after his fiance died was just repulsing. She was lusting after the guy, dead lovers be damned.

6. Obnoxious Attempt on Molly’s

Sometimes, it’s not about the events themselves as much as about the people who participate in them. The annoying couple from Portland that moved in next to Molly’s, a long-established bar, and then tried to get it closed because they didn’t like the noise at night — well, those guys made Chicago Fire fans’ blood boil, and we get it.

5. Gabby and Matt’s Foster Kid

Adoption is a brilliant and wholesome decision (and a one that many Chicago Fire characters opt for for a reason), but some people just aren’t meant to be good foster parents. Yes, we’re on Gabby’s case again, but she totally deserved it. Her entire foster kid arc was mildly infuriating at best… Poor Casey didn’t deserve all that.

4. Firehouse 51 in Danger

The funniest and, arguably, most annoying thing about this one is that it has been repeated so many times. Everyone’s always out to get Firehouse 51 like it’s the Arkham Asylum and they’re all Gotham villains. Come on, people, it’s one of the biggest houses in Chicago! And you’ll lose, anyway, just like everyone before you.

3. Theater Collapsing on People

Season 11 Episode 3 is widely considered to be one of the worst Chicago Fire episodes of all time by fans, and it’s hard to argue with that. The worst part was undoubtedly the finale: the theater fire rescue wasn’t going too smoothly to begin with, but when the building collapsed on Hawkins and a victim, it was just dark.

2. Faulty Wires Electrocution

It's rare to hate unnamed characters that never even make it onto the screen, but Leslie Shay’s death certainly achieved that from most fans. Her being instantly killed on a call by the faulty wires was anticlimactic, and Kelly’s genuine panic trying to save her was heart-wrenching. We all hate the electrician who installed those wires.

While not as quick and dumb as Shay’s, Otis’ death was still a lot to take in: everyone’s favorite firefighter dying from a virus, of all things? Seriously?!
