A Bit of Harry Potter Magic Comes to the iPad — Thanks to a Clever Young Developer

Bringing spells to life, this app transforms handwritten questions magically.
Movies have a way of sticking with us. They don’t just stay on the screen — they linger, especially the magical ones. And few props have left such a lasting impression as Tom Riddle’s diary from Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. That mysterious little book that answered back? It gave more than a few of us chills… and ideas.
Now, one developer has actually brought that experience to life — in the real world.
Ethan Saadia, a young coder with a love for tech and storytelling, has created an app that turns your iPad into something straight out of Hogwarts. You write on the screen with your Apple Pencil, and the app replies in a dark, mysterious tone — just like the diary did in the film.
This is seriously cool! 🪄📖 https://t.co/ZeKTtIqftj

"I turned my iPad into Tom Riddle’s diary with Apple’s new Foundation Models, an LLM built into iOS” Ethan wrote on X. “It’s lightning fast!"
The app uses Apple Intelligence, the company’s new AI system that’s now open to developers. But it’s not just about tech — it’s about atmosphere. Ethan’s creation responds in a way that feels strangely personal, almost enchanted. It’s fast, yes, but also weirdly emotional — like the iPad has secrets of its own.
What started as a fun experiment is now a perfect example of how movies continue to inspire new ideas — and how the tools we carry every day can feel like magic, when they’re in the right hands.
