Adolescence Creators Will Turn ‘the Most Terrifying’ Nuclear War Movie Into TV Series

This may come as good news only to those who have it in them and are ready to go through one of the most shocking stories ever told on the big screen.
Even the toughest guys who never cry at the movies couldn't withstand the emotional devastation that Netflix 's Adolescence brought upon them. We're not going to tell you the story of the miniseries for your own sake, but here's a disclaimer: make sure you have a night off and a box of paper tissues on the day you decide to watch the show.
And as if that wasn't traumatic enough, the brilliant Adolescence team decided to bring another absolutely devastating story to life. News has come out that the show's creators, British production company Warp Films, are planning to adapt one of the most iconic post-apocalyptic movies of all time into a TV series. And if it captures even a fraction of the bleakness of the original, viewers are in for an intense journey…
Of course, we are talking about Threads, the 1984 horror film that caused so many people around the world to lose their sleep after seeing it for the first time. Frankly, we think there’s not a person on the planet that actually gave the movie a second try.
What Is Threads About?
Threads explores the devastating effects of nuclear war across multiple dimensions, including medical, economic, social, and environmental, over several decades.
The film's depiction of nuclear fallout is absolutely haunting, and the abrupt, soul-crushing ending simply breaks you. Unlike many films that tie up loose ends with a pretty bow, Threads offers an uncompromising look at the aftermath of nuclear conflict.
“It was so terrifying because it was so realistic. Nothing's more frightening than things that can actually happen,” Redditor dystopiadattopia said.
Fans are horrified at the idea of a TV show like this, but they can't deny that they somehow understand why it's happening at all in today's climate.
“Omg … once was enough. I don’t even like seeing an article about this movie. Honestly I didn't sleep for a while after watching this.. all my childhood nightmares in one movie. This is a real horror movie folks; however, given the state of the world at the moment; might be a good reminder to everyone just how easy it is for society to crumble and humanity to reverse back to being animals,” Redditor Jimmydog65 said.
It remains to be seen if the show will offer a glimmer of hope, but if it stays true to the source material, be prepared to see the true hell that is nuclear war.
