According to TheInSneider, rising star Cailee Spaeny — fresh off Civil War is in talks to lead Alex Garland’s upcoming adaptation of Elden Ring, with backing from none other than A24.

A fantasy epic in the making
Now in early pre-production, Elden Ring is already being called one of A24’s most expensive films — possibly bigger than Marty Supreme, which cost a reported $70 million.
Alex Garland returns as writer and director, following Ex Machina, Annihilation, and Civil War. He reunites with Ben Whishaw and Kit Connor, whose presence promises a mix of mystery and energy. Whishaw in Elden Ring’s world? That’s something I’d happily watch.
George R. R. Martin, co-creator of the game’s mythos, is involved in shaping the film’s story. With Martin and Garland collaborating, there’s reason to expect rich, immersive worldbuilding.
Meanwhile, Cailee Spaeny continues her rise. This will be her third project with Garland after Devs and Civil War. Fresh off a $350M success with Alien: Romulus, and upcoming roles in Beef Season 2 and Knives Out 3, she’s quickly becoming one of the most compelling young leads in Hollywood. Placing her at the heart of a fantasy epic feels exactly right.
