Good thing the actor is moving on after Apple TV+’s biggest hit completely ruined his storyline.

While things might be ending for John Turturro’s Irving in Apple TV+ ’s Severance, the actor has just got himself another compelling role to wait for on the screen.

Coming off the astounding success of Ben Stiller’s sci-fi series, Turturro rose to stardom and received numerous accolades for his role of Macrodata Refinement employee Irving, including nominations for Primetime Emmy, Golden Globe and SAG Awards.

This time, however, the actor might be far from seeking justice, but rather avoiding it himself in the upcoming crime thriller helmed by Knives Out ’s actor Noah Segan.

John Turturro Will Lead Segan’s The Only Living Pickpocket In New York

Severance’s season 3 is yet to show how things turn out for Turturro’s Irving, but the actor is currently booked and busy as, according to Deadline, Turturro has been officially cast as the lead for Noah Segan’s future crime thriller titled The Only Living Pickpocket In New York.

The movie is reportedly already in the works, following Harry, “a career pickpocket who is forced into a desperate, high-stakes race against time through the streets of his city”.

Until the future film arrives probably sometime last year, those who have missed Turturro’s character in Severance might find joy in the actor’s more recent and pretty prominent works like Guillermo del Toro 's Pinocchio, Pedro Almodóvar’s The Room Next Door and Prime Video ’s spy TV series Mr. & Mrs. Smith.

Severance Fans Hope to see Irving Come Back in Season 3

Another couple of years might pass until fans will finally figure it out, but many still have their fingers crossed for Irving’s return in Severance’s next season after the show completely mishandled his storyline.

“I feel like his storyline had so much potential and mystery set up in season 1, and we were left with barely any resolutions”, Redditor Frequent-Drive-1375 admitted in a themed thread, while True_Peasant revealed they had previously posted about the same issue, but not many agreed on the idea.

Still, there were others who chimed in, saying that Turturro’s Irving is a great character “left on a train with barely any explanation was when I realized the writing had switched up at some point in S2”.

Irving’s fate will now remain shrouded in mystery until Severance’s season 3 arrives on Apple TV+ sometime in a couple of years.
