Alien Earth: Release Date, Plot & Everything We Know About the Upcoming Hulu Show
Hulu is about to release the most unique project in the history of the Alien franchise – the series will be set on Earth for the first time. Here're more reasons to get excited about the Noah Hawley series.

In 2025, the first series in this universe, Alien: Earth, will hit FX on Hulu. So far, many details of the new project by showrunner Noah Hawley are being kept secret, but there is already enough information to interest fans.
Alien: Earth Plot & Timeline
The plot begins with the crash of the spaceship USCSS Maginot on Earth: it has been in space for a long time and carries something unknown that needs to be studied. Later, a woman named Wendy and a group of scientists make a discovery that could be dangerous for the entire planet.
Apparently, a xenomorph will land on Earth. This does not contradict canon – the prequels confirmed that they appeared in the days of Covenant, or even earlier.
Alien: Earth Release Date & Number of Episodes
The development of the Alien project helmed by Noah Hawley became known back in 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, filming was postponed several times, and it was not until three years later that work began.
The exact release date has not yet been revealed, but official promo materials report that Alien: Earth will be released on FX on Hulu in the summer of 2025.
A total of eight episodes are planned for the first season.
Noah Hawley Is a Master at Creating High-Quality Projects Based on Famous Franchises

The showrunner of the series is Noah Hawley, which seems to be a perfect choice so far. He has already worked on projects based on famous franchises.
It was Hawley who came up with the idea for the Fargo series, which is not so much a remake of the original movie as a journey through the world of the Coen brothers.
He also directed Legion, a small but very successful project based on the X-Men universe that was loved by critics and fans alike.
Hawley knows how to stay connected to the source material while creating his own stories and not being afraid to experiment. For the new Alien, he wrote all the episodes and directed some of them.

The lead role, Wendy, will be played by Sydney Chandler, known for her roles in Don't Worry Darling and Sugar. Her character is described as a metahuman with the consciousness of a child and the body of an adult.
Wendy's mentor will be Kirsh, played by Timothy Olyphant, the star of Justified and Fargo. His character is a synthetic and a scientist who introduces Wendy to the world.
But the most important thing is that many teasers were filmed from the point of view of a red cat – later they were all compiled into one video. We can only guess whether it could be Jones from Alien or his distant relative.
