It's safe to say that the entire television industry was shaken to its core by the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes that took place last year.

But now that the unions have reached an agreement, all the networks have gone back to work to ensure that viewers get new seasons of their favorite shows as soon as possible.

The home of Grey's Anatomy and Abbott Elementary, ABC, was no exception. In February 2024, fans of many shows will be able to dive back into the short but eventful seasons of their favorite stories.

If you are waiting for your favorite TV show to return, check out the list below to see if it is coming back next month.

February 7

On February 7, ABC will kick off the month of returns with The Conners. The sequel to another hit sitcom, Roseanne, will return with its 6th season, which will consist of 13 episodes.

Another sitcom returning on the same day is Not Dead Yet. The story of Nell Serrano, a writer who encounters the ghosts of people whose obituaries she's working on, will continue in the second season.

Rounding out the streak of sitcom returns, ABC will premiere season 3 of Quinta Brunson's award-winning Abbott Elementary. The show will land with an hour-long premiere episode, so be sure to tune in so you don't miss a thing.

February 18

The celebration of talent that is American Idol returns to viewers' screens on February 18. The show will air its 22nd season as the judges once again take on the daunting task of determining the most deserving performer out of all the contestants.

If you are in the mood to cry at some heartfelt stories or laugh at some of the most ridiculous audition performances, make sure you do not miss the premiere episode.

February 20

The network's newest critically acclaimed police procedural, Will Trent, will return for a second season, delving deeper into the intricacies of police work and some details of Trent's personal life.

Another procedural, The Rookie, will enter its 6th season with a long-awaited new villain arc. How will the new antagonist shake things up for the LAPD in general and John Nolan in particular? We'll have to wait and see.

To cap off the month-long return, ABC will air the first episode of the 7th and final season of its medical sensation The Good Doctor. The only hope is that the team behind the show will be able to wrap things up nicely without giving the Internet any more meme templates to overuse.
