According to Deadline, in a couple of years we’ll get to see a renewed version of the cult film series that helped boost Reese Witherspoon’s career back in the 2000s.

It’s just been reported that Legally Blonde, a worldwide famous romcom that stars Reese Witherspoon as a glamorous sorority girl who is determined to become a successful lawyer, is coming back to the screens, but this time as a TV adaptation.

Amazon MGM is responsible for the development and production with Reese Witherspoon’s production company Hello Sunshine on board as well.

The news comes as a real incentive for numerous fans across the world to mark their calendars as the original film and its sequels over the years have become a real cultural phenomenon.

The plot initially deludes the viewer by the first appearance of Elle Woods, portrayed by Witherspoon, who embraces literally all stereotypes about blonde girls: she cares about fashion more than anything else in the world, has a tiny chihuahua and dreams about her perfect carefree life with smart boyfriend Warner who aspires to be a lawyer.

When Elle’s biggest dreams are shattered by her involuntary breakup with Warner, she decides to win him back and enters Harvard Law School — and here all the stereotypes are set aside.
