The studio now has a good chance to start from scratch after the franchise got off Barbara Broccoli’s hands.

After years of uncertainty about its future James Bond and the movies’ storyline, Bondiana is facing an even bigger crisis now that its longtime producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli officially stepped away from the franchise.

The next films’ future is now in the hands of Amazon MGM whose first wrong step is likely to ruin everything Bondiana has been building for decades, but there’s only one safe option the company’s execs might want to start with.

Naturally, this would even make much sense considering the ending of James Bond’s latest movie.

James Bond Dying in No Time To Die Is Amazon MGM’s Chance to Start Afresh

The studio now responsible for helming James Bond’s upcoming new eras might seem like a controversial matter for many fans of the classic franchise, but Amazon taking over the entire control right now just couldn’t have a better timing after all.

Bondiana’s latest movie, 2021’s No Time To Die with Daniel Craig as the famous secret agent, ended with its lead character not making it out alive, thus making it possible for the very first time to develop a completely new story with James Bond portrayed by someone else.

This wasn’t a case for the franchise’s previous eras, so Amazon MGM might benefit a lot from setting it all afresh with a new actor and a new direction the studio will choose as its priority for the years to come.

Bringing Previous Eras’ Characters Back Isn’t an Option Either

Since now Amazon MGM has no other choice but to start Bondiana’s new chapter completely from scratch, it shouldn’t let ghosts from the franchise’s earlier eras enter the scene whatsoever.

That said, a new James Bond movie has to have an entirely new setting with all new side characters, since there’s no point for Amazon to stick to the past now, however successful it was.

Additionally, this route is also the most right option for the company’s intention to expand the James Bond universe by prequels and spinoffs. Introducing new characters will open more doors to exploring their own story, thus making the franchise’s future much more diverse and prolific.
