Even such big stars lost some significant roles.

The James Bond girl has long been something of a household name.

Together with the agent, they have been drawing the attention of viewers to the screens for more than half a century, and all the actresses who received the coveted role inevitably occupied lines in the ratings of the sexiest women.

In general, there are more than 50 James Bond girls in all the franchise's installments. This list of talented actresses could be replenished with two of the most recognized and big Hollywood stars – Charlize Theron and Angelina Jolie.

Although Charlize Theron has many iconic roles in her treasure trove, even she, like many other actors, has not landed some really big roles.

Charlize could have played Vesper Lynd in Daniel Craig 's first Bond movie, 2006's Casino Royale.

The real reasons why the star did not become the new chosen one of the special agent remain unknown. Some sources reported that she refused to play, while others said that the creators preferred Eva Green to her and other contenders.

Another actress who could play a Bond girl is Angelina Jolie. The Hollywood star could have taken Eva Green's place in Casino Royale, but she was not interested in the offer.

As the actress later said, she would like to play the villain or the special agent herself, but not the femme fatale who is always behind the spy's back.

Jolie could also appear in the 23rd Bond movie, Skyfall, but not as another lover who changes every movie, but as a character who will appear in several installments.

Presumably, she herself got in touch with the creators and could compete with Jennifer Aniston and Freida Pinto for the role. However, as fans already know, she never appeared in the movie.

In ranking the most important women to James Bond, Vesper Lynd might come out on top. Her main task was to control the millions entrusted to Bond.

The relationship between the spy and Eva Green's character was not easy at first, but eventually their confrontation turned into romance.

Towards the end of the story, James fleed to Venice with his beloved, but then it turned out that Vesper was playing a double game.

She stole government money and then was held hostage by the criminals she was supposed to deliver it to.
