Animated Trouble Returns: 'The Bad Guys 2' Has a Release Date, a Bad Girls Squad, and My Full Attention

I don’t know about you, but I’ve been quietly looking forward to this — The Bad Guys 2 is finally on the way, and I’m honestly way too excited for an animated caper. The first one completely stole my heart (pun absolutely intended), and now the crew is back... with backup.

Here’s the scoop: the sequel lands in UK cinemas on 25 July 2025, then hits US and Australian screens on 1 August. If you're in Russia or nearby, you’re in luck — it drops a bit earlier on 31 July. Basically, July is booked.

The runtime? 104 minutes. Just right — long enough for chaos, short enough for a guilt-free rewatch (or three).

Now, I’m mostly a couch creature these days, so I was relieved to find out the streaming plans. First stop: Peacock (ugh, time to renew), then it makes its way to Netflix for 10 months, before looping back to Peacock again. Not the smoothest route, but at least it’s trackable.

And the cast? Incredible. Sam Rockwell, Marc Maron, Awkwafina, Craig Robinson — all returning! But they’ve also recruited a new squad of "Bad Girls" (yes please): Danielle Brooks, Maria Bakalova, and Natasha Lyonne. I’m already obsessed and we haven’t even seen them in action.
