Me. I’m the Arcane fans. Even though Arcane’s universe is confirmed to be continued, the story of Vi and Jinx is said to be over; well, the Timebomb squad simply cannot agree.

Another version of Stromae and Pomme’s Arcane soundtrack, Me Meilleure Ennemie, has been released on April 4 by Riot Games Music channel — this time, it’s a lyric video for the extended edition that includes a verse from Coldplay.

While the lyric part of Stromae and Pomme hasn’t changed too much, the Coldplay verse is in English and adds a new vibe to the song; the chorus, however, is sung by Chris Martin in French.

It’s not like the song needed to get any more heartbreaking and tear-jerking, but that’s exactly what happened: hours after the release, Arcane fans (particularly the shippers of Timebomb, which is a pairing name for Ekko and Jinx) are losing it in the comment section.

The lyric video has only fueled the desire of the fans to see a separate piece of content that is dedicated to Ekko and Jinx in at least some way, be it in the alternate universe where the two aren’t impacted by the war and enjoy being young and in love instead, or in the actual Arcane universe, where things are way sadder and darker.

“Dear Riot, Ekko and Powder /Jinx’s story in Arcane is too powerful to leave unfinished. Their connection, pain, and unresolved emotions deserve a Timebomb spinoff. We need to see their growth, Ekko’s journey with the Firelights, and a chance for them to heal. Fans like us are waiting—please make it happen! Sincerely, Timebomb nation,” wrote YouTube user ThilothMethsanda-yq3ft in the comments.

Other fans chimed in, saying that Arcane has managed to create “one of the greatest couples ever,” so leaving them without additional stories would be unfair — both creatively and commercially.

But even though it has been confirmed that the story of Vi and Jinx is essentially over, the Arcane universe is set to expand — and fans still hope that there is a chance for Timebomb to explode once more.

Arcane Creator Hinted at Possibility of Including Ekko and Jinx in Future Spinoffs

During one of the Twitch livestreams, showrunner and executive producer of Arcane Christian Linke mentioned that things may not be over for Ekko and Jinx.

“When he tries to convince Jinx that there is a version of Powder [...] that is so different, that she is a whole, more complete person, and he has seen it. It’s not some theory or him trying to convince her, I think that she can feel that when he tells her that version exists. And so I think it’s really beautiful and was also what Ekko needed. Powder is such an amazing example of what Zaun could be. And I think that it’s worth continuing with their story forward,” Linke said.

While not an official confirmation of the couple’s fate in the Arcane universe, the producer’s comment turns out to be a silver lining for fans who cannot seem to let Ekko and Jinx’s lovestory go. Right now, all fans can do is theorize — even with the help of the League of Legends universe.

“Well, considering Mel is going to be in Noxus, being the new general of that army detachment, it’s not out of the woods that Jinx could go to Demacia, given her links to Lux there at least with the runeterra animations,” noted Redditor MundaneTry1432.

In an interview with Screen Rant, Linke mentioned that the Arcane team is “working on a bunch of new projects, a bunch of new stories from across the different regions and characters of our IP, and some of them are actually continuations of character stories from Arcane.”

Both seasons of Arcane are available for streaming on Netflix.
