NBC's One Chicago franchise is pretty huge. You have probably seen a bunch of show titles with Chicago in them and, like many people, thought that they were somehow connected. Well, we're here to prove you right and finally explain what's going on.
It began with Chicago Fire in 2012, Chicago PD followed a year later, and then Chicago Med premiered in 2015. Many of the episodes of each show feature characters from the other Chicago shows. Not only are the shows set in the same city, but they are deeply connected in both story and character. This is especially true of Chicago Fire and Chicago PD.
Chicago Fire focuses on the firefighters, paramedics and rescue squad of Firehouse 51. Chicago PD highlights the tough and often dangerous work of the Chicago Police Department's intelligence unit.
The connection between the two shows was strengthened when several characters from Chicago Fire, such as Officer Antonio Dawson, crossed over to the new police drama. And it’s not the only time a crossover happened in the universe.
