According to an insider, Scarlet Witch, played by Elizabeth Olsen, will return in Avengers: Doomsday, but she won't be the Wanda we know. Here are the details that Alex Perez shared.

Rumors have surfaced that Elizabeth Olsen will reprise her role as Scarlet Witch in Avengers: Doomsday. This version of Scarlet Witch will allegedly come from the X-Men universe. Wanda Maximoff may reunite with her father, Magneto, played by Ian McKellen.

Scarlet Witch Will Appear in 'Avengers: Doomsday', According to Alex Perez

Wanda presumably died in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. However, rumors have long circulated that she survived and teleported to an unknown location.

Therefore, fans are eager to see her in the multiverse crossover, Avengers: Doomsday, which will feature the X-Men. In Marvel comics, she is closely associated with the mutant team.

According to insider Alex Perez, Scarlet Witch is set to return in Avengers: Doomsday.

However, it will not be the original Wanda from the MCU, but rather a new version from the X-Men universe. She may cross paths with her father, Erik Lehnsherr, and her brother, Quicksilver/Pietro Maximoff:

“[This] is a universe where Magneto is finally ruling Genosha as he had always pictured it; and we'd have like a "royal family" type of situation with Erik, Pietro, Wanda, and Polaris.

This is an idea that has been pushed since Multiverse of Madness, and then Deadpool and Wolverine, but it never feels like the right fit because it feels like it takes away from the overall plot. However, the main point they would like to explore with Wanda is the father-daughter relationship with Erik.”

The insider didn't specify who will play Pietro. In previous X-Men movies, Evan Peters played the role, while in the MCU, the character was portrayed by Aaron Taylor-Johnson.

The fifth Avengers movie was originally scheduled for release in May 2025. However, Marvel later shifted its release schedule.

Avengers: Doomsday is now expected to premiere on December 18, 2026. However, these dates are not final, and the premiere could be pushed back again.

It could take place either later or earlier than the announced date. For example, Deadpool & Wolverine was scheduled for release on November 8, 2024, but it premiered three months earlier.

What Will 'Avengers: Doomsday' Be About?

Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars will conclude Phase Six of the MCU. Plot details for both films are currently being kept under wraps. The only thing that is known for sure is that, this time, the Avengers will battle Doctor Doom, who will be played by Robert Downey Jr.

Some fans speculate that Doctor Doom will create Battleworld, a reality that connects all known dimensions, and proclaim himself its ruler. In this new reality, different versions of the same character can exist simultaneously.
