Avengers: Secret Wars Spoilers Leak by X-Men Writer, Explained

It now seems like Avengers’ upcoming movie will still have what Marvel has been denying all along, and some fans think this is yet another sign of the superhero studio’s inevitable downfall — here’s why.
It’s fair to say Marvel has been living through its worst nightmares in the past couple of years, suffering one major failure after another since Avengers: Endgame became one of its latest major successes.
The studio now keeps all its hope alive for Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, two upcoming superhero films, helmed by Endgame’s directors Anthony and Joe Russo, which will reunite a whopping amount of Marvel stars on the screen.
However, even with Marvel’s attempts to move on to something un-repetitive, a bunch of major details about Secret Wars suggests otherwise — and fans aren’t buying it.
X-Men Writer Chris Claremont Had to Say Too Much About Avengers: Secret Wars
It wasn’t long before Marvel’s plans to keep the movies’ plot line under wraps were thwarted by X-Men’s comic book writer Chris Claremont.
During his visit to the Huntsville Pop Culture Expo, Claremont dropped a major bombshell, revealing some of the biggest secrets Secret Wars, well, also tried to keep a secret.
First, the writer made it clear that Robert Downey Jr. will return for multiple roles and not just Doctor Doom’s one, with the list also including Iron Man.
On top of that, Claremont revealed that Chris Evans and Elizabeth Olsen are also planning to come back as Captain America and Scarlet Witch respectively; he then suggested Hugh Jackman ’s Wolverine will kill someone important.
The writer’s words eventually had Marvel fans divided, as some questioned Claremont’s information sources and others got convinced he’s still way too close to the studio’s insiders to be misinformed.
What Fans Have to Say About Avengers: Secret Wars Possible Spoilers
It might be that Marvel has just got itself some more excited fans who can’t wait to see the long-gone characters (or their actors) back on the screen, but there are still others who had enough of Marvel’s attempts to regain its past success.
“I don't understand the hype for this movie. It all sounds like pure garbage. There is no care whatsoever in the build up of this film. Everything is done in a rush. People don't realize that this film is Marvel Studios' cry of desperation, it's their cry of desperation to get an audience again. Enough with nostalgia, enough with bringing back old actors, that's it. Give us coherent stories, give us deep characters that really matter in this universe. No more movies without any coherent stories and lazy scripts like No Way Home, Deadpool & Wolverine, Multiverse of Madness, etc. They're ruining Endgame's perfect legacy”, TomDH_9991 ranted in a Reddit thread.
“This is going to confuse my wife immensely when she has no idea how these people are back when they are dead and hates the idea of a multiverse”, popculturehero predicted.
“That’s so f—king lame lmao. The MCU has been beyond shit for years and now they’re bringing back Downey and Evans as Iron Man and Cap because they’ve got no idea what to do”, griffshan agreed.
When Will Avengers: Secret Wars Be Released?
The movie is now scheduled to arrive in theatres on May 7, 2027.
