The actor did lots of TV work that, sadly, remains in the shadows of his Apple TV+’s sci-fi hit.

With a career span of more than three decades, Adam Scott reached new heights thanks to Ben Stiller’s sci-fi drama Severance that recently wrapped its second season up, becoming the most watched series in Apple TV+ ’s history.

The hit show is yet to continue with at least one more instalment which will arrive on the platform sometime in a couple of years, though before that fans do need to fill the void with something else.

Luckily, Scott’s filmography might serve as a great tool for those seeking more flicks and shows starring familiar faces; it might be even more compelling to see the actor in a completely different role as a lead of one of his comedy series.

Naturally, one of those will likely become a perfect watch for audiences missing the 1980s’ TV shows vibe.

With numerous acting credits under his belt, Scott has also proved himself as a brilliant writer and director with a mockumentary TV special titled The Greatest Event in Television History and launched back in 2012.

Despite not having a linear storyline, the show gained numerous accolades and eventually spawned 4 episodes in total, concluding in 2014.

Co-created by the actor’s real-life partner Naomi Scott, The Greatest Event in Television History pays homage to the history of television that received its prime in the 1980s with a handful of widely acclaimed shows later on turned into a cult classic.

Also featuring a star-studded cast that comprises Jon Hamm, Paul Rudd, Kathryn Hahn and Scott’s Parks and Recreation co-star Amy Poehler, The Greatest Event in Television History recreates some of the most prominent TV series’ opening credits sequences which, as Adam Scott once revealed himself, were his favorite part of any show while watching TV as a kid.

Adam Scott’s Other Hit Mockumentary Is Also a Great Watch After Severance

This might be the show that introduced Scott to a much wider audience, yet there’s nothing wrong in going back to it now that Severance is temporarily gone from Apple TV+.

Another star-studded comedy series inspired by the immense success of Greg Daniels’ The Office, Parks and Recreation follows day-to-day life of, well, the Parks and Recreation Department in the fictional town in Indiana, also delving into the turbulent personal life of its head, Amy Poehler’s Leslie Knope.

The show introduced Adam Scott as government official and Leslie’s eventual love interest Ben Wyatt only by season 2, though the actor soon turned into a beloved addition to the leading cast, rising to an even bigger stardom with other prominent TV shows like Big Little Lies and same old Severance.
