And then he made his own sequel to that movie in which he played alongside Christopher Walken.

Exploring topics of control and memory, Severance is one of the most compelling science fiction projects of the 21st century.

One of the reasons for its appeal is the depth of its characters, each of whom is going through their own trials, which gives the plot additional depth.

After Episode 4 of season two, John Turturro's Irving became most viewers' favorite (Yes, do it Seth!). But did you know that before Severance, the actor took part in one of the most legendary crime comedies in the history of cinema?

John Turturro Played Jesus in The Big Lebowski

Remember the Dude Lebowski? His Dudeness. El Duderino. Duder. Well, in the legendary Coen Brothers movie The Big Lebowski, in addition to the Dude, there was another interesting character, Jesus Quintana. He was played by John Turturro, a good friend of the Coen brothers, an actor and director.

Yes, your favorite humble Irving from Severance is the same Jesus from The Big Lebowski passionately licking a bowling ball. This is what we call range.

John Turturro Made His Own Sequel to the Coen Brothers' Movie

The actor, who has been plagued by questions about a sequel to The Big Lebowski for years, even thought for a while about taking on a sequel to the Coen brothers' film, in which his character would have had a significant presence on screen.

Given the actor's friendly relationship with the directing duo, there is no doubt that he would have received the directors' approval.

However, Quintana was resurrected in another project that could be considered a spin-off of The Big Lebowski, but is actually a remake of the 70s film Going Places, directed by Bertrand Blier.

The movie titled The Jesus Rolls, directed by Turturro himself, tells the story of two petty thieves, Jesus and Petey. The legendary bowler gets out of prison, reunites with his friends and goes on a rampage again, causing trouble and getting involved with dangerous guys.

The Jesus Rolls Was Another Project in Which Turturro Worked With Christopher Walken

The Jesus Rolls is an absurdist comedy that, although it received a 20% from critics and a 25% from viewers on Rotten Tomatoes, still deserves the attention of Big Lebowski fans.

What's more, one of the roles in The Jesus Rolls was played by Christopher Walken, Irving's love interest in Severance. These two are simply inseparable.
