Before The White Lotus, Walton Goggins Was a Perfect Villain in This 2018 MCU Hit Movie
The superhero flick with a star-studded cast was Marvel’s darling, grossing more than $620 million in the box office.
As The White Lotus ’ season 3 has just one more episode left until its big mystery is revealed, it won’t be long enough until the show’s audiences will finally know the fate of this installment's characters.
As for now, many of those might be facing great dangers, including grumpy Rick Hatchett, in The White Lotus portrayed by Walton Goggins; embarking on a mission to track down the man that may have killed his father, Rick is one of those that will likely have to deal with consequences of his actions in the upcoming finale.
The biggest plot twist will yet take one more week to arrive though, which is the time the actor’s new fans might use for giving a watch to Goggins’ other massive hits, and one of those is something very familiar to the MCU audiences.
Walton Goggins Was One of Marvel’s Best Villains Long Before The White Lotus
Having mostly gained momentum thanks to a bunch of prominent roles on TV, Goggins has also had an impressive span in the movie industry, proving the versatility of his acting with a villainous role in MCU’s Ant-Man and the Wasp.
Also starring Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michelle Pfeiffer and Michael Douglas among others, the movie sees Goggins taking on the role of Sonny Burch, a criminal and black-market technology dealer.
With some connections to the FBI, the latter was a useful tool for those seeking important materials for the Quantum Tunnel, but things shift when Burch makes a use of these materials for his own profit, for which he’s later on confronted by Ant-Man and co.
Following his arrest, the character was never seen in the future movies ever since, though he still appeared in MCU’s animated anthology series What If…?
Ant-Man and the Wasp Was a Worthy Start of the Franchise
Released roughly 3 years after the original movie, Ant-Man and the Wasp turned out to be even more successful, paving the way for one more of Marvel’s high-grossing superhero franchises with almost $623 million grossed in the box office against the initial budget of $195 million.
The film was then followed by a threequel titled Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, released back in 2023; on Rotten Tomatoes, Ant-Man and the Wasp is holding some of the highest scores for Marvel movies with 87% and 79% from critics and audiences respectively.
